Vic aka “netgrrl”
My first computer was an XT clone with 2 5.25″ floppies and a 1200 baud modem. I installed a 10M hard drive thinking I’d never need so much space. (Now I have flash drives I received as convention swag bigger than that – x10.)
I’ve worked in the field of IT/Communications ever since. Pre-Internet, I ran a BBS called Vic’s Place, first in Gulfport and then in Jackson, MS. I’ve been using “social media” of one kind and another ever since. Like many IT people, I have worn many hats, and become a fair hand at graphic design and website. WordPress is a current love of mine, unless something better comes along one day.
Instead of dog years, I measure my age in OS updates.
When I am not reading about tech, talking about tech, learning about tech, Twittering about tech… I read, listen to podcasts and audiobooks, needlefelt and knit and walk my little dog, @RadarDog. Yes, he has a Twitter account. Don’t ask me why. I’m often jealous because he has more followers than I do. I also live with two cats, Buffy and Domino, who have declined to tweet from every fiber of their being.
I’m an ENTJ, a coffee addict, an insomniac, a news junkie, Scrabble (and Words with Friends) addict, Sudoku addict, a Mac geek and many other things to which I won’t admit. I have a yarn stash that frightens me, a gift (curse?) for trivia that frightens others, and a passion for the non-tech volunteer work I do. My biggest fear is walking down stairs in the dark.

Arnie aka “Professor”
Retired from the New York Stock Exchange and moved to Florida in 1996. My primary interests were photography and fishing until my daughter bought herself an iPhone (when they first came out) and then my wife bought one for me.
That began a serious addiction to all things Apple. I joined a social networking site named “iRovr.com” for iPhones. Back then, it was a web app, but now it in the App Store. The friendships made on that site not only has continued to this day (Victoria and others) but led me to Facebook, Twitter and all sites devoted to Apple. My next step was the Macbook Pro where I learned from scratch how to become proficient.
Fishing has taken a back seat to Apple and social networking websites. I have spent a considerable amount of money downloading and reviewing apps for my own enjoyment as well as sending reviews to friends strictly for pleasure. Photography and videos are still an important part of my life.
I am an avid reader of TUAW, AppleInsider, MacRumors, Macworld as well as the NY Times, Wall St. Journal and others. Keeping up with ALL NEWS is important to me.
On the personal side, I am married, 3 children, 4 grandchildren and have made a serious contribution to Apple’s bottom line because of all the “fans” in the family. In fact, Apple stock goes up a point when they know I’m headed to the store in the mall.

Jesus aka “jemoreno”
Born and raised in a computer wasteland, I learned at a very young age to repair computers and cannibalize towers. I worked as a tech all through college until I decided that I wanted to educate others on the coolness of technology. I obtained a job as an Educational Technologist and have been happily working there for a few years now. My roles as such require that I research technology use in education i.e. classrooms. I use my Apple iPhone and iPad daily and am constantly looking for the next great app or device that will revolutionize the industry.

When I was younger I wanted to be a teacher, like my mum. At school I loved working with computers – I can still remember the tiny keyboards in those days. Mind you, compared to an iPhone keyboard, they were huge!
I have always loved technology, so when the iPhone came along I had to have one! Luckily I managed to persuade my other half to get me one for my Xmas. Gadget Girl was well and truly born!!
I updated to the 3G as soon as I could, and then upgraded to the 3GS. This all means, of course, that there is no way I can managed to get the iPhone 4 for a year and a half once my contract is up. But hey, I couldn’t wait once my last contract had finished, I had to have the 3GS! If I had just held out for a few months!!
Aside from my iPhone, I have my MacBook, a Christmas present from my bosses last year. Also have my Sony eReader, which I use daily and could never do without.
I have bought, and deleted, hundreds of apps since getting my iPhone. Most now reside within iTunes, ready to be brought back out when I fancy a change from my favourites.
My personal favourite are social networking apps, dash games such as Diner Dash, and irritating games like Angry Birds!
I also have loads of kids games as a means of keeping my two young charges happy. Oh yeah, should have mentioned, I work in Scotland as a nanny, a job I love and which keeps me going from day to day.
In a nutshell, I am a reader, crafter, Mac convert, proud aunt/god-mother, caravan lover, gadget geek!
