Fragmental 3D

Fragmental 3D isn’t the Tetris game you grew up with. This is beyond anything I was expecting when I downloaded this from the App Store. I was fanatical about Tetris when I was younger. Even more recently when my kids got a Tetris game for their Nintendo Gameboy, I think I played it more than they did.

There’s something fulfilling about clearing the screen of the chaotic mess of colorful blocks; the music quickens, the blocks come faster and faster, you start to break out in a cold sweat.

Maybe I’m just a bit OCD. In any case, it’s a popular type game and this version really ups the excitement.

In this game, you have complete control. Your view of the game is nearly infinite. The blocks are moved in any of 4 directions using large arrows on the screen and can be rotated in 6 different ways.

You only need 5 blocks in a line going in any direction to clear a line, and you get big bonus points if you can clear multiples!

There’s a swap button to change modes as well during the game and a force drop slide button to drop the block quickly.

You can even look down from the very top of the square-shaped cylinder which is a view I never imagined before. It truly is 3-D.

There are options in the menu to try different setups, such as timed in 5-10 min intervals or marathon mode. There are several different starting levels, different block types including standard, classic and rejects (these are difficult block shapes you haven’t seen before and it really makes the game interesting).

The instructions included for beginners are very easy to understand and they have included a link to YouTube for anyone needing further examples.

You can create an online profile with this app and have your scores uploaded and recorded to compete against other worldwide Fragmental 3D players or keep it strictly to yourself.

Either way you play, you could become addicted to this game like I have and for $.99, it’s a bargain!

You can also tryFragmental 3D Lite. Watch the visual instructions in the video for a quick start to playing!
